Bernhard Günther is the first son of
Werner Günther (the Günther-family is from
the Rhine (german Rhein) river) and
Rosemarie Streich.
The Streich-family originates from the small village of Neuendorf near Crossen (now
Czarnowo - Gmina
Krosno).
History of Krosno in the
German Wikipedia:
1241: During the invasion of the Mongolians the nuns from Trebnitz flee to Crossen.
It sounds plausible that they were given some land near the town of Crossen, and the german
"Nonnendorf" became "Neuendorf".
In 1704 Hans-Joachim Streich (from the district Crossen) marries into the family Kulle from
Neuendorf.
